Default VIM trapper

Hi, im relatively new to pvp especially HoH. A few days ago ive encountered a ViM trapper team. We got our asses kicked badly.

Could anyone here please tell me what build you need for one of those?

Thanks

Having never before heard of it, all I can say is that it seems fairly obvious what it would about have to be.

Expertise/Tactics/WS, go with:

Flame Trap
Barbed Trap
Dust Trap
"Victory is Mine!" [E]
Whirling Defense
Throw Dirt
Storm Chaser
ReSiggy

Realize I've never played a PvP trapper, but a ViM! trapper would seem to, basically, be a Trapper that uses ViM!. Whirling Defense to keep you alive, Throw Dirt to also keep you alive and to help fuel ViM!, and Storm Chaser to give you the mobility to put your Traps wherever they need to be. ReSiggy because it's ReSiggy. Fairly basic, but I'm most likely missing something. Maybe one of the experienced, knowledgable Trap-monkeys around here could get off their duffs and help out, eh?

in pvp, many ppl use mesmer as secondary and take mantra of resolve.

so 4 traps, mantra of resolve is the skill needed. fill up the remaining with wat ever u want.

How are you gonna be a VIM trapper with Victory is Mine AND Mantra of Resolve?

I play VIM trapper with my Guild alot, it requires a Warrior secundairy

Attributes:
16 WS, 10 Expertise, 9 Tactics

Skills:
Victory is Mine
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Dust Trap
Healing Spring
Whirling Defense
Spirit (EW/QZ/NR)
Ressurecting Signet

And just keep using VIM whenever you're low on health/energy, it only has a 15 recharge so you can just spam it... it's very fun.. ^^

Apply Poison and Serpent's Quickness work well also. I've used this farming Minos/Gryphs. Nothing like full recharge of both bars every 15 secs.

Depends on the team, really, if you're just an ordinairy trapper in say an IWAY team, then yes, R/Me would be the best choice for Mantra of Resolve, but in case of an VIM team with 4-5 trappers (or usually more) then it wouldn't hurt to get interrupted once or twice, you'll get so many dust traps and whirling defense helps to avoid attacks, there's not many things that could fail. (Although Migraine Mesmers are really annoying, or SS Necro's) VIM trapping works great against IWAY though, which atm is one of the most running builds in Tombs.

I would actually go with less tactics and put more into Expertise. Healing spring is only really needed for alter matches, you can ditch that for throw dirt if you want. If you are a good trapper ViM will heal just fine at 6 or 7 tactics .

I fought a group in TA like that. 3 W/N with Vim and 1 trapper with Mantle of resolve.
